Endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer is usually found in the early stages and there are a number of treatments, including a complete hysterectomy. Initially, the lymph nodes in the pelvis are checked with a procedure called sentinel lymph node biopsy where fluorescent dye is injected into the cervix before the operation and travels to the first lymph nodes. This can be done laparoscopically or robotically and this procedure has become the gold standard of how to measure endometrial cancer around the world.

Endometrial cancer is prevalent in larger women, and robotic surgery allows the specialist to perform minimally invasive treatments in larger-size patients, rather than cutting through their abdomen, making the recovery time and risk of infection much better.

Why go private at Northern Beaches Hospital?

  • Minimal wait times for treatment and/or surgery
  • Choose your preferred surgeon from our network of specialists and doctors
  • Option to self-fund if you don’t have private health insurance

Calculator_Icon.svg

If I need surgery, how much will it cost?

Like many surgeries performed in a private hospital there’s usually an out-of-pocket fee. The amount will depend on your private health fund cover and the surgery that’s right for you.

No private health insurance? Option to self-fund

If you don’t have private health insurance, you can choose to self-fund your gynaecological treatment and benefit from minimal wait times for surgery. Your chosen surgeon will be able to talk to you about this option and provide an estimate of costs.

How do I get started?
