The Refracture Prevention Clinic is aimed to look at bone strength to prevent fractures in the future. Patients may need to have blood tests, bone density tests and a potential care plan – these tests are to see how strong your bones are. This clinic is bulk billed, with patients being booked by our Outpatient Ward Clerks. Anyone who has recently been hospitalized for a fall and is suitable for the clinic will be sent an invitation to attend our fracture clinic. This invitation is not an appointment but requires to be completed by your GP and returned to Outpatients via fax or the email on the invite. The Outpatients administration team will then be in contact with you to book the appointment.
Dr Lu is also working within suite 17, to which this is a private appointment and will be charged – these are separate clinics but if you are seeing Dr Lu upstairs (or another rheumatologist) you will not need to attend our Refracture Prevention.
Private Outpatient Clinics are not covered under Medicare, patients will incur medical fees with a Medicare rebate if eligible. Please discuss the fees when booking.
