Antenatal education

We have a range of classes to suit all parents and grandparents that you attend here in the hospital.

Antenatal Breastfeeding Class

The 1.5 hour class will run the last Tuesday of each month at 10am, in the Education Centre on Level 4 and will cost $50.

The Breastfeeding Class at Northern Beaches Hospital is an educational program designed for pregnant women to learn about breastfeeding in a supportive and informative setting. This class focuses on providing essential knowledge and skills needed to begin breastfeeding successfully and to continue with confidence, whether this is your first baby, or your fourth baby. Led by experienced lactation consultants, the class covers the basics of breastfeeding, including latch techniques, milk production, and how to recognise and resolve common breastfeeding issues. The class will be interactive, providing lots of opportunity for questions. If you have had struggles with breastfeeding before, we will aim to address any concerns or challenges you might have faced, to help make you feel prepared, and to share knowledge amongst the group. Our goal is to equip expectant parents with the tools and confidence they need for a positive breastfeeding experience.
