Our Respiratory Medicine department provides inpatient care for all adult respiratory medical conditions -both private and public patients. There is a respiratory physician on call 24/7, combined with a team of doctors to provide exemplary care.
Subspecialty areas include lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, non-tuberculous mycobacteria and airways disease.
There is an interventional service with services including -flexible bronchoscopy, linear and radial EBUS, airway stenting, indwelling pleural catheter insertion, endobronchial valve insertion, cryobiopsy -transbronchial/endobronchial, and tumour debulking using APC, cryotherapy or laser.
Our hospital has a state-of-the-art pulmonary function test laboratory to provide lung function testing for inpatients and people attending clinic appointments.
We also have a rapid access lung lesion clinic. This is for rapid assessment of patients where there is a high suspicion of lung cancer. GPs can access a referral form here. Referrals should be faxed to (02) 9105 5158 or emailed to nbhoutpatients@healthscope.com.au
