Northern Beaches Hospital provides a unique opportunity for passionate and dedicated volunteers who want to make a difference in their community.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our hospital team.
We are looking for people of all ages and backgrounds, including people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), Indigenous Australians and people who identify as LGBTQ+.
We will also consider students over 16 years of age who are pursuing careers in healthcare. Students undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Medals may also wish to apply.

Special skills volunteers - Do you have a special skill? We are always looking for help in areas like events and admin.

Consumer Consultants
Our Consumer Consultants help Northern Beaches Hospital be responsive to patient, carer and consumer input and needs. As an advisor to the hospital, you will make a real difference to future service provision at NBH. Your role might include sitting on committees, advising on consumer publications or helping to develop future programs.
Consumer Consultants should have experience of hospital services as a consumer or carer or have a chronic condition requiring frequent admissions. You should also have a commitment to providing a consumer perspective.
Training
Training will be provided particularly for those working with older patients, those with dementia and mental health issues.
About you:
Successful applicants would be bubbly, enthusiastic people who can make a difference with our patients.
You should:
· Be a great communicator who enjoys helping people
· Have the ability to work both independently and within a team
· Have a genuine caring and empathetic outlook for patients and visitors

All volunteers receive uniforms, free parking and a cafe voucher for each shift they attend.
Requirements
You will need to have a working with children check (free) and police check ($15 via Centre for Volunteering – we will reimburse you).
We also need your vaccination certificate particularly for COVID-19 and influenza.
