Children's Health

The Northern Beaches Hospital delivers world-class, family-centred care to all patients in our community. Our team has a breadth of experience in managing all paediatric care requirements, from patients with acute illness to those with chronic and complex needs.

Our focus is on providing holistic care to our patients and their families. We work as a team, together with families, to optimise every child's health care journey. We aim to provide the best possible care, close to home. If children require specialist Children's Hospital assessment, we work with our colleagues at both Sydney Children's and Children's Hospital Westmead to ensure safe, timely transfer and management to get each child well and back in their home as soon as possible.

We provide the following Children's Health services:

  • Paediatric facilities:
    • 8 -bed paediatric section in the Emergency Department
    • 18 -bed Paediatric Ward
    • 6-bed short stay area within the Paediatric Ward
    • Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service.
  • Highly-trained, skilled Paediatricians, paediatric and neonatal nurses, and midwives.
  • Paediatric-trained imaging, pathology and Allied Health professionals.

In addition, our clinical teams interface with the Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transfer Service where patients require intensive paediatric care from the Sydney Children's Hospital.

The Children's Health services can be accessed via the Emergency Department, Birthing Unit, or referral from a specialist doctor.
